Three Keys for Consistent Weight Loss

It's Transformation Tuesday! In my experience, consistency is key to continued weight loss and maintenance. Here are 3 keys to be consistent!  

#1: Make a plan and stick to it

How many times have we heard “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”? There is a reason that this is a common phrase. Because it’s true! This concept is super important. Think about it:

If you went on a trip with no destination and no GPS map in mind, you'd be aimlessly driving to somewhere with no control.  If we don’t plan for success, we just might be planning for failure. It’s your choice!

Everyone, even thin and tone people, have the same amount of time in a day. It all depends on what you do with that time.

#2: Start every morning with a healthy habit

If that means to wake up a half an hour earlier to exercise or to blend a nutrient-dense smoothie, then make it happen. Maybe it is replacing a negative habit, like scrolling on your phone. Starting your day out right guides you to make healthier decisions for the rest of the day. That is called the Domino Effect.

#3: Find alternatives you actually enjoy

You need to be willing to try new things. Perhaps, you can make or buy substitutes for your craving downfalls.

Crave salt? Try baking your own pita chips and dip them into a wholesome salsa. Want an even healthier option? Dehydrate shredded kale with some Himalayan sea salt and a few other ingredients for a salty low-calorie crunch.

If you crave your favorite chips, buy the single-serving packages. And limit yourself to one bag when you have those cravings.

Crave sweets? I love iced coffee! In order to lose weight and/or keep it off, traditional iced coffee cannot be on the menu every morning. I still drink iced coffee every day... but I use sugar-free syrups or sweeteners. Or I found a protein-packed way to get my chocolate craving satisfied. A chocolate protein smoothie!

These are some simple strategies to show you how to be consistent in healthy routines. My dream is that these tips will inspire you to reflect and act on something today, tomorrow, and weeks & months to come. As we begin working together, you'll get the transformation that you desire.
